Category:Video games developed in South KoreaIsland Brewing Co. has announced the release of Utopian Pale Ale.
The 6.8 percent ABV beer is a collaboration with designer Nate Sanders, who created the label. The pale ale has been aged on a blend of seven-year old sour Belgian barley wine, and wheat from Ponzi Wheat Farm in Idaho.
“For each beer that Island is brewing, we want to do our best to showcase the talents of the people that we work with, and of course, any new release will be the perfect opportunity to welcome people to the Island family,” said Island co-founder Mitch Steele.
This is the first beer to come out of Island’s new two-barrel brewery and pilot system, the first of which has been installed in the Pilsener Hall. The system is a mix between traditional stainless steel fermenters and the newer, larger, and more temperature-controlled vessels.
“The old stainless steel and wood barrels were designed to keep beer oxygen-free while infusing flavors from oak, but those beers were not good for making beer,” Steele said. “The new two-barrel pilot system is capable of making up to 70 barrels per batch, and we can open up that barrel space for new beers at any time.
