His wife played a major role in keeping Churchill focused on his goals. He was not always aware of what he must do next, but she was there to remind him of the bigger picture at hand, especially when things became tough for them personally. Another person who had a significant impact on his life was King George VI. His character was once very popular with voters, but after being involved in an airplane crash, he lost all popularity and respect for himself and his family line. His time with Churchill played a key role in his mental recovery, as he regained faith in not only himself, but his role as king as well. There were also others whose lives were affected because of Churchill, such as the people that he saved from Nazi camps and those who received food and supplies from his decisions to fight back. The actors and actresses involved in this movie did an exceptional job at portraying their respective characters and bringing them to life. Gary Oldman portrayed Churchill perfectly, and really gives the movie a sense of desperation, since it is based on real events that took place at the time. He also gives a great performance as George VI, as does Lily James as his wife; she portrays both of them as very strong and courageous. This movie showcases the many people that collaborated with Churchill to overcome the Nazi menace. It really depicts how these people both bore the brunt of the war for him and helped him throughout it. It's a movie that everyone can watch to see how incredibly strong these people were in their situations- even putting their own lives at risk just to help out what seems to have been an insignificant nobody at the time. It is sure to provide inspiration for all those who want nothing more than to succeed in life, even when what they are doing seems insignificant or unworthy of attention. It also shows how one person can really change the lives of many others. This is very much so an inspirational movie for all to watch, but it is particularly recommended for those who are set out to face obstacles, whether small or large.
